The Mossdeep City Skitty glitch is assumed to be a glitch in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. In Mossdeep City, in the house directly west of the Pokémon Center, there is a Skitty, with a Skitty's cry, but it is named 'DELCATTY'.
This was amended in Pokémon Emerald, which changed the name of the Skitty from Delcatty to Skitty.
The same glitch also exists in the Japanese version of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, where the Skitty is named 'エネコロロ'; Delcatty's Japanese name. The glitch was fixed in the Japanese version of Emerald in the same way as English Emerald; by changing the name エネコロロ to エネコ (Skitty's Japanese name), rather than changing its cry.
